Why do shows leave the TV Land lineup?
Most of the shows on TV Land are acquired programs. These programs are owned by various distributors who license them to us for a limited amount of time. Once a show's license expires, TV Land is no longer permitted to air that program.
-
Why are episodes of some shows being skipped or shown out of order?
Sometimes a license agreement for a show has restrictions regarding the number of times we are allowed to air certain episodes. These restrictions often apply to first episodes, last episodes and multi-part episodes.
Another possibility is that sometimes we have to hold back holiday episodes or episodes related to a special event in order to show these episodes at the appropriate time of year.
A final possibility is that an episode may not have been released by the distributor; although this is rare, it does occasionally happen.
-
Why do printed schedules or the schedules on my TV differ from what is actually airing?
Most listings services require programming information many weeks in advance in order to have them printed or included in their electronic (on set) schedules. However, changes are sometimes made to intended schedules before they air and there isn't enough time for the listings services to-up-date the information that is already being printed or distributed. The good news is you can always find the most up to date schedule online on our Schedule page.

What should I do if I experience technical problems while I'm watching TV Land?
The first thing you can do is contact your cable or satellite provider to report the problem. If they are not able to help you, please contact us with details of your problem by calling TV Land Viewer Services at (212) 846-2550 or sending an e-mail.
In order for us to help you, you must be prepared with the following information: your full name, city and state, phone number and the name of your cable/satellite provider. We will also need as many details as possible about the problem. Is there a problem with the audio or the video? Is there a snowy screen? Is the picture frozen? Are the commercials too loud? What were you watching when this happened and how long did it last? The more specific you are, the more we will be able to help you.
-
How do I submit ideas for an original program?
At this time, TV Land is not accepting unsolicited pitches or ideas for original programming.
-
Can I purchase a copy of the programs I watch on TV Land?
Unfortunately, TV Land does not offer any of our programming for sale on home video or DVD at this time.
-
Why aren't all of the shows on TV Land closed-captioned?
We close caption programs as we receive funding from the organizations for captioning. When these organizations provide us with the funding, they usually dictate which programs they want captioned.
That being said, there is a new regulation that all shows must be close captioned by a certain date, at which time we will have all programming taken care of.
We are currently investigating other ways to raise funds to caption all of our programs in the near future.
-
Are all the commercials on TV Land chosen to be scheduled and broadcast by
TV Land?
TV Land airs commercials nationally while allowing the cable operator or satellite provider time to air spots locally. Local commercials may be for local businesses or other products that are audience targeted and focused.
If you are interested in finding out more about a commercial that aired, contact your provider or TV Land Viewer Services at (212) 846-2550.
