Mr. Spock
 Spock is half human, half Vulcan, and as such often struggles to balance his human emotions with his ingrained logic. Born to a famous father, the Vulcan Sarek, and a human mother named Amanda Grayson, he often relies on the latter as he is forced to navigate his emotional outcroppings in a culture that doesn't understand anything but critical thought. His dual role on the ship is that of Science Officer and First Officer. Spock is Kirk’s right-hand man, though the two sometimes differ in their approach to certain problems – they frequently find a balance with the help of a third party, Dr. McCoy. Spock was betrothed to a woman named T’Pring for seven years but didn't marry her in order to continue his work aboard the Enterprise.
