If
Fred Sanford has a conscience, its name is Esther, a bible-thumping
sister-in-law who runs a rooming house, the Sanford Arms, next
to the junkyard. Esther has her own ideas about how Fred should
be running his life, and he certainly knows where he'd like
to see her go. Some of Sanford and Son's most hilarious
moments come from the interplay between opinionated Fred and
his dearly-departed wife's strong-willed sister.
