Charles Kimbrough
While best known for playing straight-laced anchorman Jim Dial on “Murphy Brown,” Charles Kimbrough is a song-and-dance man of long standing, having gotten his start playing the Tony-nominated role of Harry in the original Broadway production of Stephen Sondheim’s ‘70s musical “Company.” He also appeared in a 1959 stage production of Thorton Wilder’s "Our Town" at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, when Thornton Wilder himself played the Stage Manager. Kimbrough has made numerous guest appearances on television shows including “Ally McBeal” and “Family Guy,” and can be heard voicing the role of Victor in the Disney animated features “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” and The Hunchback of Notre Dame II.” His son is John Kimbrough of Walt Mink fame. He is also married to Beth Howland, who played Vera on TV’s Alice.
