Episode #1 - Harvest of Friends
The Ingalls family settles on the banks of Plum Creek in Walnut Grove. Once their house is built, Charles faces the difficulties of working multiple jobs in order to pay for his farming equipment.

Episode #2 - Country Girls
Laura and Mary attend their first day of school and meet Walnut Grove’s “mean girl,” Nellie Oleson.

Episode #3 - 100 Mile Walk
After a severe hailstorm ruins the Ingalls’s harvest, Charles sets out to search for work while Caroline gathers the town women to try and save the crops.

Episode #4 - Mr. Edwards' Homecoming
Charles runs in to his good friend Mr. Edwards, in Mankato and insists that he come to Walnut Grove. Once he arrives, Caroline attempts to play matchmaker -- with mixed results.

Episode #5 - The Love of Johnny Johnson
New student Johnny Johnson becomes the object of Laura's affection, but Johnny is only interested in Mary.

Episode #6 - If I Should Wake Before I Die
An elderly woman goes to extreme lengths to encourage her family to visit, including staging her own death.

Episode #7 - Town Party, Country Party
Laura befriends a lonely girl named Olga, who has a slight disability. Charles creates a special shoe to help the young girl live a normal life, but her father is angry about the interference.

Episode #8 - Ma's Holiday
Mr. Edwards baby-sits the Ingalls children while Charles and Caroline are away on a romantic weekend. Mr. Edwards may be a real mountain man, but taking care of kids may be more than he can handle.

Episode #9 - School Mom
Caroline becomes the school’s substitute teacher after Mrs. Beadle is injured. When she takes an interest in a certain student, Mrs. Oleson pays a visit to the school, which causes Caroline to quit.

Episode #10 - The Raccoon
Laura's pet raccoon, Jasper, attacks her and runs away. The Ingalls are terrified that the animal might have infected Laura with rabies.

Episode #11 - The Voice of Tinker Jones
Mrs. Oleson wants to buy a bell for the town church and have it dedicated to her. The town is divided over what to do until mute carpenter Tinker steps in to build the bell.

Episode #12 - The Award
Mary accidentally sets the barn on fire while studying for an extra credit exam. As punishment, Caroline forbids her to take the test.

Episode #13 - The Lord is My Shepard (part 1)
Caroline is thrilled when she gives birth to a son, Charles Ingalls Jr. Laura resents her new brother, and when the baby becomes gravely ill she blames herself for his death. Laura becomes determined to ask for a miracle -- she wants God to take her life and send her brother back to Pa. To get "closer" to God, she runs away and climbs the nearest mountain, where she meets a kind hermit named Jonathan. Meanwhile, Charles and Mr. Edwards search desperately for Laura. Guest star: Ernest Borgnine

Episode #15 - Christmas at Plum Creek
Christmas is here! The Ingalls family goes about their preparations in secret, hoping to surprise one another with wonderful presents. Charles makes Laura a saddle, Carrie buys something the whole family can enjoy, Caroline and Mary think alike, but it’s Laura who gives the festivities a bittersweet ending right out of O. Henry.

Episode #16 - Family Quarrel *
Nels and Harriet separate after a huge argument. But their separation doesn't last after the townspeople scheme to get them back together. (This episode is listed on TV Land’s schedule as #17.)

Episode #17 - Doctor's Lady *
Harriet's niece, Kate, pays a visit and, despite their significant age difference, she and Doc Baker fall in love. Guest star: Anne Archer. (This episode is listed on TV Land’s schedule as #16.)

An outbreak of typhus sweeps through Walnut Grove. The church becomes quarantined until the cause of illness is discovered. (This episode is listed on TV Land’s schedule as #19.)

Episode #19 - Circus Man *
A traveling sideshow performer named O'Hara comes to Walnut Grove and delights the children with his tricks. But when Harriet refuses an operation in lieu of O'Hara's magic powder and almost loses her life, the traveling circus man must make a confession. Guest star: Red Buttons. Episode #20 - Child of Pain
Caroline and Charles try to rescue a young boy who's being abused by his alcoholic father.

Episode #21 - Money Crop
Joe Colter, new to Walnut Grove, convinces the local farmers to switch their crops from wheat to corn. On his way back from Minneapolis with the corn seed, Joe is in an accident. The farmers in Walnut Grove become suspicious and they take their frustrations out on Joe's pregnant wife.

Episode #22 - Survival
The Ingalls, on their way home from Mankato, have to seek shelter from a raging blizzard. They are helped by a Sioux who is being hunted by a US Marshall.

Episode #23 - To See the World
Young Johnny Johnson gets his head filled with adventure by Mr. Edwards and, after a fight with his father, decides to set out to see the world. Mr. Edwards does everything he can to change Johnny’s mind, including setting up a series of cons and scams.

Episode #24 - Founder's Day
Get ready for some competitive logging, wood chopping, rope jumping, pie baking, three-legged racing, muddy tug-of-war and wood chopping – it’s Founder’s Day in Walnut Grove!
