120 - Beaver Becomes A Hero
While fishing with Wally, Beaver wades out to retrieve a drifting
canoe. After the boys return it to the grateful owner, the story
gets magnified in school about how Beaver rescued a young lady
who was trapped in a runaway speedboat. By the end of the show,
Beaver must tell his classmates the true story before they print
the false one in the neighborhood paper.
121 - Wally the Lifeguard
Wally was supposed to be a lifeguard at Friends Lake for the
weekend, but instead turns out to be selling candy and hotdogs
on the beach. Beaver is so ashamed of his brother that he won't
speak to him for the whole day after seeing him. Ward finally
makes Beaver realize that he is the one who should be embarrassed
for treating his own brother that way.
122 - Beaver's I.Q.
Beaver becomes scared that he might fail his I.Q. test that
he will be taking in school. His friends tell him that he will
be sent away to "dumb" school if he does poorly. It
turns out that Beaver's score is one of the highest in his class.
123 - Beaver's Freckles
Beaver becomes very self-conscious of his freckles to the point
where he hates them. He tries to sandpaper his face and even
wears his mother's make-up around the house. It isn't until
Clyde Appleby sheds some light on the subject that Beaver begins
to like his freckles again.
124 - Beaver's Big Contest
Beaver enters in a contest and wins third prize, which is a
$3,500 red sports car. However, problems arise and Beaver won't
speak to his father when he finds out that they are planning
to sell the car and put the money in Beaver's savings account
for college.
125 - Miss Landers' Fiance
Beaver is raking Miss Landers' leaves one day when he finds
out that she has a fiance. After he finds out what that word
means, he is crushed because he feels as though he will lose
his nice teacher forever. Miss Landers finds out what is bothering
Beaver and has a long talk with him until he feels better.
126 - Eddie's Double Cross
Eddie is dating the beautiful Caroline Shuster, but Wally finds
out that she is only using him while her boyfriend is grounded.
When Wally tries to warn Eddie about this, Eddie gets mad at
Wally and accuses him of just being jealous. Later Eddie realizes
that Wally was indeed telling the truth.
127 - Wally's Glamour Girl
June sets up a date between Wally and Kitty, who is the daughter
of one of June's closest friends. The problem is that both have
lied to each other about living extravagant lives, and now both
are nervous that the date will turn out poorly because of all
the lies they told in order to impress each other.
128 - Chuckie's New Shoes
Beaver takes Chuckie Murdock along on a trip to buy new shoes.
However, Chuckie turns out to be a spoiled brat and won't leave
the store unless Beaver buys him sandals as well. Then Chuckie
disappears and Beaver is afraid to go home without him. Ward
finally goes to shopping center to find Beaver and tell him
that Chuckie is home safely.
129 - Beaver and Kenneth
Kenneth is a lonely boy at school who desperately wants to be
friends with Beaver. In order to do this, he steals items from
the classroom and gives them to Beaver as gifts. By the end
of the show, Kenneth comes clean with the teacher and with Beaver
about why he was doing this. The teachers explains that this
is not the way to make friends.
130 - Beaver's Accordion
Beaver goes behind his parents back and orders an accordion
for a five day trial period. He winds up keeping the accordion
for a lot longer than that, and when a man comes to collect
it he gets in trouble with his parents. His mother accidentally
breaks the accordion, but Beaver will have to pay for the damages
because he has lied.
131 - Uncle Billy
Wally and Beaver are excited to see their Uncle Billy because
he always tells such exaggerated stories and makes extravagant
promises. When Uncle Billy's lies prove hurtful to the boys,
all Beaver can say is that he is used to this kind of treatment
because all the kids in his class act that way also.
132 - Teacher's Daughter
Wally is dating Julie Foster, the daughter of an English teacher
in Mayfield High. All of his friends give him a hard time when
he gets Mr. Foster as an English teacher because they all think
he will get an A. Wally and Julie break up, and now Wally thinks
he will fail the class. It turns out that Wally winds up getting
an A-.
133 - Ward's Millions
Beaver decides that he wants his father Ward to become a millionaire,
so he buys him a book called "I Became a Millionaire in
Twelve Months." Ward pretends to be thankful but knows
he will never read it. Beaver's feelings are hurt when he finds
this out, but the two have a touching father and son talk at
the end that makes everything all right.
134 - Beaver's Secret Life
Beaver decides he wants to be a writer when he grows up. His
father is very supportive of this and buys him a diary so he
can practice his writing and keep a journal of his daily activities.
However, when Beaver neglects to come home, his parents break
into his diary to discover his whereabouts.
135 - Wally's Track Meet
After Coach Henderson gives the track team a lecture about horsing
around in the locker room, Eddie and Lumpy pull a sneak towel
attack on Wally and he fires back at them just as the coach
comes back. The result is Wally's suspension from the team and
his parents' disappointment in him.
136 - Beaver's Old Buddy
Beaver is very excited about his old friend Jackie Waters coming
to visit him for the weekend. The problem is that once they
get together they realize that they are actually bored by each
other's company. Jackie leaves early and Beaver has a talk with
his father about what happened.
137 - Beaver's Tonsils
When Dr. Kriby looks at Beaver's throat, he tells Beaver that
he might have to have a tonsillectomy. Beaver becomes very scared
over the whole thing until Ward tells him about all the ice
cream and presents he will get. Dr. Kirby decides after all
that Beaver doesn't have to have a tonsillectomy and Beaver
is actually upset because he was looking forward to all the
gifts and ice cream.
138 - The Big Fish Count
Parker's Pet Store is holding a big contest in which the contestants
guess how many fish are swimming around in the big tank sitting
in front of the store. Eddie works there and gives the correct
answer to Lumpy who in turn gives the answer to Kathy because
he has a crush on her. On the day of the drawing, Mr. Parker
fires Eddie because he knows he is the one who leaked the information.
139 - Beaver's Poster
There is a contest and a prize for the person who draws the
best poster of the colonial period. Beaver begs his father to
help him, but Ward refuses saying that this is Beaver's project.
Although Beaver thinks it turns out pretty badly, he winds up
winning the prize for originality. |
