Besides
Wally, Beaver's best friend is Larry Mondello. Larry is a real
piece of work—if he's not eating or whining about something,
he's busy getting Beaver into some sort of crazy predicament.
Larry's problems probably stem from the fact that his father
is always out of town and his mother is a nervous wreck.
Gilbert Bates is Beaver's Eddie Haskell. Rather than wear
his shadiness on his sleeve like Eddie, Gilbert is a sneak.
Before he met Beaver, Gilbert's family moved around a lot,
and he compensates for his insecurity with a cocky demeanor.
Gilbert's a champ at manipulating Beaver into doing his dirty
work and getting him to take the blame—the sign of a
real wise guy. |
