Jack Gallo is the publisher of Blush magazine, the supposed rival to Cosmopolitan (at least in his mind!). He acts as a father figure to his staff but is the true father of Maya Gallo, who works under his thumb.
Jack has been married four times. His current wife is Maya’s former high school classmate with whom he has a young daughter. This is a point of contention with Maya. She believes he is a good father to the new addition but was absent as a father when she was growing up.
Jack is a series of contradictions. At times, he is cool and collected and turns the other cheek when he sees his staff doing less than their very best. Yet, at other times, he makes ridiculous demands of them. Most of the time, Jack takes a more laid-back approach, and in one episode states, "At Blush, it’s all about fair play and having a good time."
Without a doubt, Jack has a competitive streak and collects "real-life" rivals like Donald Trump. Elliot challenges Jack, asking, "Since you talk about Donald Trump so much, why don't you marry him?"
Jack is a betting man and co-owns a racehorse named Tax Dodge with Robert Goulet, who makes an appearance on the show.
