Wendie Malick

Enrico Colantoni was born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1963, in Toronto, Canada. Colantoni started as a novice in theater, but came to be a serious and well-respected theatrical actor. He attended the highly prestigious Yale School of Drama and studied at the American Academy for Dramatic Arts in New York City. As a professional Shakespearean actor, he has appeared in Hamlet, The Merry Wives of Windsor and Macbeth.

In 1995, Colantoni was cast in NBC’s television series Hope & Gloria. Following that show’s end, he was cast again by NBC in Just Shoot Me! as the sensitive but egotistical womanizing fashion photographer Elliot. During his stint on Just Shoot Me!, he also appeared in episodes of Galaxy Quest, 3rd Rock from the Sun and the film Artificial Intelligence: AI.

Since the end of Just Shoot Me! ,Colantoni has appeared in Monk, Numb3rs, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and as the voice of Dr. Bortel in the animated series Kim Possible.

In 2004, Colantoni garnered the role of Kristen Bell’s private investigator father, Keith Mars, in the successful show Veronica Mars. In 2006, he was nominated for two awards pertaining to the show--the Teen Choice Award for Choice Parental Unit and the Family Film Award’s Favorite Father and Daughter which he won.

Colantoni will appear in the upcoming Canadian police drama Sniper scheduled to debut in fall 2008.
