Mike Evans

The first (and third) actor to play Lionel Jefferson on the groundbreaking The Jeffersons, Mike Evans also broke ground as the co-creator of another All in the Family spin-off, Good Times.

He was still in acting school when he landed the part of Lionel on All in the Family in 1971. He portrayed Lionel Jefferson on the first season of The Jeffersons, but left to work on Good Times. He returned in 1979. He also made numerous appearances on Match Game in the early 1970s and like his television mother, Isabel Sanford, Evans acted in a segment of Love, American Style. He sang the song "El Condor Pasa" in the TV movie The Voyage of Yes, and was in the famous miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man. Evans made a guest appearance on Walker, Texas Ranger in 2000.
