Debra Dunning was born on July 11, 1966 in Burbank, Calif. She attended John Burroughs High School, where she was a cheerleader and the homecoming queen; in 1984, she won the Miss Burbank pageant. Dunning is best known for playing 'Tool Time Girl' Heidi Keppert on Home Improvement from 1992 to 1996. She also portrayed ex-nanny Hope Lorca in the sizzling Tatum O'Neal melodrama Wicked, Wicked Games from 2006 to 2007. Dunning has been married to Steve Timmons since 1997 and has two children.
As the 'Tool Time Girl,' Heidi's main job is to introduce the guys on the show by asking the audience "Does everybody know what time it is?" The Tool Time Girl is extremely handy with tools, and much like an assisting nurse, hands over the necessary tools during Tim and Al's on-air projects. Factoid: actress Debbe Dunning took over the role after the first 'Tool Girl' (played by Pamela Anderson, who later returned to reprise her character, who went on to become a paramedic) bowed out after the second season. Tim's son Brad has a crush on her, even though she's married.
