In high school, Cheryl was a new wave chick who shaved her head, wore funky clothes, partied hard and hung out with the 'freaks.' If you were part of the mainstream, she wouldn't give you the time of day. Despite her too-cool-to-care attitude, she was painfully shy. She now realizes that her elitism caused her to miss out on a lot of the fun in high school. For Cheryl, the reunion is an opportunity to connect with the people she wasn't open to socializing with 20 years ago.
