Valente Rodriguez

Valente Rodriguez was born on Valentines Day, 1961 in Edcouch, TX, the youngest of eight children. He was the first member of his family to graduate from high school and go to college. He attended the University of Texas-Pan American and received their distinguished Alumni Award in 2006.

Rodriguez moved to L.A. in 1988. He played his first leading role in the film Salsa. His other film credits include Erin Brokovich, The Ugly Truth and the critically acclaimed Mi Familia (My Family). He also made more recent appearances in The House Bunny and (500) Days of Summer.

Rodriguez has appeared on several popular TV shows, including The Golden Girls, Growing Pains, Falcon Crest, Beverly Hills 90210, Mad About You, Dharma and Greg and The X-Files. He is best known for his regular role as Georges best friend Ernie Cardenas on George Lopez.

In June 2011 Rodriguez appears with Fran Drescher in the new original sitcom Happily Divorced on TV Land. Rodriguez plays Caesar, an employee at Dreschers flower shop.

Cesar Jimenez is Frans hardworking employee at Frantastic Flowers. Of course, part of the reason he is so hardworking is to delay going home Cesars house is often overrun with a domineering wife, whiny kids, and a meddling mother-in-law. Cesar is a fixture in Fran and Peters life and always seems to know what is going on with them maybe because the walls are thin, but probably because his ears are always pressed against them.
