Florence Henderson

TV Land is excited to welcome Florence Henderson to the Happily Divorced family as Elizabeth, Douglas' (Robert Wagner) wife, Elliot's (D.W. Moffett) mother, and Fran's (Fran Drescher) future mother in law.

Florence Henderson was born on Valentine's Day 1934 to a family of 10 kids. Her father was a share-cropper, and the family did all it could to help with the responsibilities of farm living. Henderson showed an aptitude for singing early on and developed a repertoire of 50 tunes by the time she was two. Her acting career really began at age 17, when she entered New York's prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

In 1952, while attending the academy, she appeared in the Joshua Logan musical "Wish You Were Here." That led directly to a lead role in Rogers & Hammerstein's national company of "Oklahoma!" which she followed up with performances in "The Great Waltz," "Fanny," "The Sound of Music," "The King and I" and "South Pacific."

Henderson became a familiar face by appearing on a number of variety shows as well as a high-profile spot on The Today Show. She also has the distinction of being the first woman to host The Tonight Show.

In 1969 Henderson landed the role of Carol Brady, golden-haired matriarch on The Brady Bunch and she became a household name. The Brady Bunch continues to air in syndication domestically (it has never been off the air), and can currently be seen in 122 countries around the world.

In addition to her work as an actress, Henderson's television credits include talk-show host and producer. Her The Nashville Network series, Country Kitchen, ran for 9 seasons and was the inspiration for a cookbook, "A Little Cooking, A Little Talking, and A Whole Lot of Fun." She can also be seen on DirectTV's Florence Henderson Show. Henderson's television credits also include guest spots on Hart to Hart alongside Robert Wagner, The Love Boat, Murder She Wrote, Roseanne, Ally McBeal, and Samantha Who.

Henderson is a mother of four and makes her home in California.
