BOB SWEENEY, DIRECTOR
He was born in 1918 in San Francisco, California and graduated from San Francisco State College. He started out as a radio announcer and moved on to radio dramas, finally forming a comedy team with Hal March. Ross was soon appearing on television in shows such as The Life of Riley, The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show and Our Miss Brooks. He also received the title role in Fibber McGee and Molly in 1959.

In addition to the 80 Andy Griffith episodes he directed, his television directing credits include; The Courtship of Eddie's Father, The Dukes of Hazzard, Dynasty, Fantasy Island, Hogan's Heroes, The Love Boat, Private Benjamin, Simon and Simon, That Girl and a reunion with Andy Griffith on Matlock. He was also producer director on The Doris Day show, Hawaii Five-O and producer on The Patty Duke Show among others. Bob Sweeney received many Emmy Award nominations throughout the years, but never won. He passed away in 1992.
