ANETA CORSAUT
Before
becoming Andy Taylor's main squeeze, Helen Crump, Aneta Corsaut acted
primarily in television westerns. She guest-starred on Black Saddle,
Zane Grey Theater and Johnny Ringo in the '50s, and later turned up
on Gunsmoke. She also appeared with George "Goober" Lindsey in the
classic horror film, The Blob, before becoming Opie's schoolteacher
in 1963. After marrying Andy on the pilot episode of Mayberry, R.F.D.,
Corsaut appeared on Columbo and in the cult TV movie, Bad Ronald among
other productions. Her next regular role was on the TV series House
Calls in 1979, which was followed by several guest spots on Matlock.
Sadly, Aneta Corsaut died of cancer in 1995.
