Frank Cady was born on September 8, 1915 in Susanville, California.
He graduated from Stanford University with a BA in Speech and Drama.
Cady played Doc Williams on The Ozzie and Harriet Show for
12 years prior to taking the role he's probably best known for Sam
Drucker on Green Acres. In fact, Sam Drucker was the link
between The Beverly Hillbillies, Petticoat Junction, and
Green Acres. All told, the character appeared in 152 episodes
of Petticoat Junction, 145 episodes of Green Acres,
and 11 guest spots on the Beverly Hillbillies.
Cady received an EMMY® nomination for work in an ABC-TV Weekend
Special called Winged Colt, and his resume reads like a Who's
Who of Hollywood at its best, with appearances in movies such as
The Asphalt Jungle (1950), Hearts of the West (1975),
and Rear Window (1954).
In 1990 Cady celebrated 50 years of marriage with his wife Shirley.
They have two children, Steve and Catherine, and two grandchildren.
