The Carol Burnett Show was an 11-year (1967-1979) staple of CBS. Elaborate song-and-dance numbers, mini-musicals, parodies of film classics (Natural Velvet, Went with the Wind, Rebecky, Double Calamity, Mildred Fierce, Mary Worthless and dozens more) parodies of TV (As the Stomach Turns, Kitchen Commercials, Exercise with Jack Leilani, Terminal Hospital) outrageous original characters (The Harper Family, the Hollow Hero, Mr. Tudball and Mrs. Wiggins) and Carol's oft-copied (though never duplicated) audience Q&A became the signature of one of the most memorable shows in television.
