Maureen
McCormick broke a lot of hearts as groovy teenager, Marcia Brady,
but she began turning heads when she was a mere toddler. At
age six, she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest,
which opened up the glamorous world of acting to the future
teeny-bopper.
At age seven her first role was in a play, and within a
year, Maureen was a popular choice for TV commercials and
sitcoms. In addition to ads for Barbie and Kool Aid, Maureen
was seen on Bewitched, My Three Sons and Camp Runamuck.
She also did voice-over recordings for a dozen Mattel talking
dolls including Barbie and a talking Buffy doll. For five
years, Maureen was one of America's top teen role-models,
admired by millions. When the Brady Kids became a singing
group on the side, producers noticed Maureen's special talent
for singing (and attracting fan mail) and encouraged her to
record a number of solo tracks, some of which turned up later
on the LP "Chris Knight and Maureen McCormick." Years later,
Maureen would revive her singing career, with the 1995 Country
CD "When You Get A Little Lonely." After The Brady Bunch,
Maureen appeared in many feature films and TV guest spots
Including the features "Take Down", "The Idol Maker" and "Casey's
Shadow." She's appeared in dozens of guest-starring roles
ranging from Happy Days, The Love Boat, Lou Grant and
more recently The Single Guy and Herman's Head.
Maureen has returned for most of the Brady reunions, and was
seen on the ABC Friday night sitcom Teen Angel. |
