#251 "The Witness"
Jenny Winters steps forward as the only witness to a stagecoach
robbery in which one man was killed and another seriously wounded.
Jenny identifies the bandits as the Logan gang. The Sheriff
want to put Jenny in jail for protective custody, but Jim Cutter,
a former Marshall, suggests a less visible place. Ben agrees
to let her stay on the Ponderosa. Unfortunately, Jenny has a
habit of telling lies; her story of being an eyewitness to the
crime is one of them.

#252 "A Lawman´s Lot Is Not A Happy One"
Roy Coffee goes with Ben to San Francisco to testify against
some timber sharks. Hoss take over as Sheriff.

#253 "Anatomy Of A Lynching"
Will Griner is acquitted of murder and the people of Virginia
City are upset. They feel Griner silenced witnesses and are
ready to lynch him. Ben works to reopen the case.

#254 "To Stop A War"
Frank Slater, a prominent rancher, wants the cattlemen´s
association to hire a range detective to stop the rustling.
Slater blames the "nesters" that have settled in the area. Joe
recommends Dan Logan for the job. Slater insists they pay Dan
$300 for each rustler he brings dead or alive. Things go smoothly
until Slater shoots Jess Hill´s son in the back and tries
to blame Dan for The shooting.

Matthew Rush is a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient
who has fallen on hard tims. Ben tires to help Matthew because
he recognizes the extraordinary achievements the Medal represents.

#256 "The Stalker"
Candy witnesses a robbery and shoots the robber James Campbell
in self defense. Campbell´s death leaves his widow Lisa
and their young son to run the farm alone. After her husband´s
death, Lisa asks her brother in law Jake to kill Candy. Not
knowing Lisa´s plans, Candy feels guilty and offers to
help out on the farm. Lisa soon finds that Candy is a decent,
kind man. She and Candy fall in love. However, Jake won´t
change his plan to kill Candy.

#257 "A Darker Shadow"
Things seem good for Wade Turner; he is engaged to Sarah,
they have saved enough money to get married and he is offered
a promotion at work. However, Wade´s eyesight is failing.
When a doctor in Willow Bend tells him he has a brain tumor,
he breaks off his engagement and quits his job without telling
anyone why.

Salty Hubbard has been telling tall tales in town for years.
He convinces the people of Sunville that Hoss is the infamous
bank robber Big Jack.

Two of Ben´s old friends show up after 27 years.
Jess Waddell, Charlie Sheppard and Ben once worked a claim together.
Now Jess is a bounty hunter and the man he is hunting is Charlie
Sheppard.

#260 "The Trouble With Amy"
Amy Wilder is an eccentric old woman who loves and cares
for animals. Her neighbor wants to have her declared incompetent
so he can claim her land. Ben invites Amy´s sister-in-law
Margaret to come from Atlanta to help Amy defend herself against
the charges.
