#236 "In Defense Of Honor"
Davey was abandoned by his Yute tribe during a battle in which his father and mother were killed. Davey was found by Ben who has taken care of him ever since. Davey has become a hand on the Ponderosa. Ben is arranging a treaty between the Utes and the White Men. While in town with Ben, Davey meets and falls in love with Bright Moon, the daughter of Chief Lone Spear. This leads to situations which threaten the treaty.

#237 "Salute To Yesterday"
The Cartwrights and Candy help the army fight off gold thieves. Captain Harris is married to Candy´s former wife, and the band of outlaws is headed by Candy´s childhood friend.

#238 "The Last Vote"
When Hoss and Joe back different candidates for Mayor, they decide to bet on the outcome of the election. The one that backs the losing candidate must pay for a trip to San Francisco for the one who backs the winning candidate. With so much at stake, they decide to become the campaign managers for their candidates.

#239 "Catch As Catch Can"
While in Tin Bucket, the Cartwrights and Candy encounter serious trouble. The entire town thinks Ben is broke, Candy is accused of cheating at cards, Hoss is drugged and accused of being a drunk and changing brands on some hides he is selling, and Joe is arrested for pick pocketing. While Joe is in jail, he finally convinces the Sheriff that the incidents are more than a coincidence.

#240 "The Sound Of Drums"
Georgio is at odds with his neighbors because he has let some hungry Indians live on his land.

#241 "A World Full Of Cannibals"
Ben hides Charles Bull. Bull committed fraud along with eight other men. Bull has agreed to testify against the other. This places him in grave danger; the others will stop at nothing to ensure he will not testify.

#242 "Sweet Annie Laurie"
Hoss befriends Laurie Adams who is running from her husband. She married Kelly Adams after knowing him only one week. She later found out he was a thief and a murderer. Hoss gets involved in her struggle to escape the sadistic Adams.

#243 "My Friend, My Enemy"
Candy is arrested for the murder of John Legget. Candy wires the Cartwrights to come help him. When they arrive, Candy tells them the only witness to he murder is an Indian known to be a horse thief. The Cartwrights must figure out how to find the Indian and convince him to testify at Candy´s trial.

#244 "Erin"
Hoss falls in love with Erin O´Donnell who has lived with the Sioux and Paiutes since she was a child. A Paiute profit said Erin was "the wolf child born to fight and die for the Indian". This prophecy proves true and once again Hoss is left to mourn a lost love.

#245 "Company Of Forgotten Men"
Candy meets an old friend, ex-soldier Russell, who was forced to retire from Army after 30 years of service. Russell and the other former soldiers with whom he is traveling, received no pension when the army retired them. Candy is forced to become an accomplice in their plan to rob the Carson City mint and hold the gold until the government agrees to give them pensions.

Ben helps his old friend Ruth Manning maintain ownership of her newspaper despite Judge Tabor´s efforts.

#247 "The Deserter"
Candy befriends an Army sergeant named Samuel Bellis who has been charged with murder and desertion. Bellis and his Indian wife Nanata are out to prove his innocence by proving someone is supplying the Indians with rapid fire rifles. Candy decides to help them in their quest and soon Joe is involved too.

#248 "The Running Man"
Joe and Candy go to Buttleville to help Candy´s friend. They discover that powerful Calvin Buttler is responsible for driving out new settlers. Joe and Candy help Jess Parker who witnessed Buttler burning a settlers house. Buttler will try anything to keep Parker from testifying.

#249 "The Unwanted"
Ben´s friend Marshall Luke Mansfield and his daughter Lorrie visit the Ponderosa. Mansfield has been a marshall for many years which has not left him much time to be a father. While at the Ponderosa, Lorrie meets and falls in love with Rick Miller who admits he is the cousin of a man that once shot her father. This causes even more problems between Lorrie and her father. Eventually, Lorrie and her father begin to understand each other and Lorrie realizes her father always loved her.

#250 "The Fence"
Ben and Hoss visit their friend Sam Masters and his daughter Ellen and are surprised when soldiers show up. Unbeknownst to Ben and Hoss, Sam Masters is really Thomas Andrews. Andrews ran a Confederate prison camp during the Civil War and is accused of starving the prisoners.
