Bill Daily was born in Des Moines, Iowa on August 30, 1928. The man who played
neurotic Roger Healey on I Dream of Jeannie and the clinging airline navigator,
Howard Borden, on The Bob Newhart Show had little TV experience before
Jeannie came along in 1965. Prior to that, Daily had made appearances on
The Mike Douglas Show and a 1964 episode of Bewitched.
On The Bob Newhart Show, Daily provided a manic contrast to Newhart's
staid, buttoned-down character where he stayed until 1978. It would be a few
years before Daily worked again as a regular. Instead, he made numerous guest
appearances, including a role in a 1979 episode of CHiPs. Daily's '80s
roles were mostly in short-lived series. He also appeared in 1985's I Dream of
Jeannie: 15 Years Later.
Today, Bill Daily lives primarily in the southwest, where he directs theatrical
productions, though he has made appearances nationally for TV Land. |
