On the Stephens' first anniversary, Aunt Clara turns Darrin into a chimpanzee. Darrin leaps out a window and runs into Gladys Kravitz, who turns him over to the zoo. When he's finally returned to his human form, Samantha is able to tell him that she's pregnant.

Larry Tate gives Darrin a book which states that the more active the mother, the happier she will be. Endora, infuriated when she hears Darrin ordering Samantha to do chores around the house, casts a spell over Darrin, which convinces him he's pregnant. When Endora removes the spell, Darrin becomes completely attentive to Samantha once more.

When strange things happen to Darrin's friend, Adam, Aunt Clara tells Samantha that Adam has inherited the spell placed by a witch on his ancestor. So Adam is forced through a series of strange behaviors to break the spell.

The Stephens are babysitting for the Tates, and Gladys sees them leaving the house and returning with a baby. Assuming the Stephens' baby has arrived, Gladys congratulates Maurice, Samantha's father, on the birth of his grandson. Maurice is shocked to find the baby is not being taught witchcraft. Maurice's pride is restored when Samantha tells him her baby is not due for several months.

Samantha arranges a meeting between Darrin and her mother, which she hopes will settle their differences. A series of minor accidents causes Darrin and Endora to accuse each other of being practical jokers. Samantha soon realizes her Uncle Arthur is responsible. She enlists Endora and Darrin in a plan to cure Uncle Arthur of his practical joking.

Endora turns Darrin into an 8-year-old, and a toy company exec sees Darrin and compliments Larry on hiring a child to devise a campaign for a toy. Aunt Clara is hiding from warlock Hedley Partridge, because she fears her old beau will discover her magic no longer works. But soon they both find that none of their tricks work as well as they used to. Hedley leaves, promising to return, and Aunt Clara tells Samantha his parting gift, a rhinestone doorknob, is more precious than an engagement ring.

Walter and Margaret Brocken ask Samantha to keep their son Merle, a 10-year-old warlock while they attend a witches convention. When Merle agrees not to do any magic, Samantha invites him to stay. But when a burglar arrives and tries to steal a necklace Darrin's holding for Larry, Darrin must call on Merle to break his promise.

Darrin tells Endora he is sure Larry Tate wouldn't let him attend a wedding out of town with Samantha. Endora suggests changing Larry into an inanimate object. Later, Endora learns that Larry has been unable to find a teddy bear for his son, and brings one to his office. When Darrin sees the toy, he is sure it is Larry.

The cabin proves to be a shack. Darrin refuses to allow Samantha to use magic to make it habitable but changes his mind when a storm breaks out.

Samantha agrees to hire a maid. Naomi Hogan impresses Samantha when she confesses her skill at preparing inedible food and penchant for breaking dishes. At dinnertime, Samantha finds the kitchen in a shambles. As Naomi rapidly calculates the damage she's done, Samantha gets an idea and persuades Darrin to hire Naomi for his firm's accounting department.

Samantha has a baby girl. Trouble begins for Nurse Kelton when Endora names the baby Tabitha. Samantha's cousin, Serena, who resembles Samantha, visits the hospital. Shortly after, Endora carries the baby from the nursery. Finding the baby missing, Darrin is sure Endora's magic has been at work and Serena is his daughter, grown up.

A horse named Dalleyrand escapes from the horse trailer of Jack Spindler, in front of the Stephens home. Unable to talk to the horse, Samantha turns her into a woman named Dolly. Dolly tells Samantha she has been forced to set a fast pace and tire the horses out so her sister, Adorable Diane can win.

Endora promises not to use any magic, and Samantha leaves. Gladys Kravitz comes over with her nephew Edgar. Annoyed by Gladys' bragging how smart Edgar is, Endora uses magic to make Tabitha talk.

Darrin reacts violently when he finds Brian O'Brian, a sprightly leprechaun, in his home. Samantha tells him that Brian is not her relative but the leprechaun of Darrin's family. Darrin is assigned to publicize Osgood Rightmire, who makes a career of debunking witchcraft. The Stephens attend a lecture given by Osgood with Louise and Larry Tate. Rightmire pronounces an incantation, which he asserts will cause any witch to disappear. From then on, Samantha keeps popping in and out involuntarily.

Meanwhile, Horace and William, two vaudevillians turned con artists, are prowling the neighborhood. Twenty-six years before, at the age of 8, when Louis made his debut as a violinist at Carnegie Hall, his pants fell down.
