Edith Bunker

Archie's devoted and dutiful wife may in fact be a bit of a "dingbat," as Archie calls her, but she's also the glue that holds the Bunker home together. Edith is yin to Archie's yang. Where he's opinionated and short-tempered, she's patient and unbiased. She's completely devoted to her husband, and sees him as a good man. She is warm-hearted, and knows how to keep her hubby happy -- even though she doesn't always quite have a grasp on what's happening around her. Edith's maiden name is Baines, and she graduated from Millard Fillmore High School in 1943. The worst thing she ever did was steal a five-cent O'Henry candy bar when she was six years old, which she eventually brought back to the store. She did, however, have to pay a dime because the price had gone up.
