George
Jefferson and Archie Bunker are as different as they are the
same. George is as loud and opinionated as his neighbor, and
is as prejudiced of whites as Archie is of blacks. If the two
of them ever stop to listen to what the other is saying, they
might be frightened by how similar they actually are. George
owns a dry-cleaning business and is quite successful at it.
Eventually, he opens a small chain of stores and moves on up
to the East Side, leaving behind his blue-collar neighbor. |
