student Michael Stivic lives between a rock and a hard place.
His education is the key to his future, yet he and his wife
cannot afford a place of their own. Mike is the political opposite
of his father-in-law, and sparks almost always fly when the
intelligent sociology student and Archie are in the same room.
Archie dismisses him as a "Meathead," and despite the fact that
Archie's shortsightedness can be intolerable at times, Michael
cares for Archie and is eternally grateful to him for the home
