Archie's
devoted and dutiful wife may in fact be a bit of a "dingbat,"
as Archie calls her, but she is also the glue that holds the
Bunker home together. Edith is yin to Archie's yang. Where he
is opinionated and short-tempered, she is patient and unbiased.
She is completely devoted to her husband, and sees him as a
good man. She is warm in her heart, and knows how to keep her
hubby happy, even though she doesn't always quite have a grasp
on what is happening around her.
Edith's maiden name is Baines and she graduated from Millard
Fillmore High School in 1943. The worst thing she ever did was
steal a five cent O'Henry candy bar when she was six years old
which she eventually brought back to the store. She did however,
have to pay a dime because the price had gone up. |
