Son
of comic actor Carl Reiner, Rob Reiner first began appearing
on television in the '60s, often in roles of hippies and bikers
on The Beverly Hillbillies and The Partridge Family.
In addition to appearing before the camera in shows like That
Girl and Gomer Pyle, Rob Reiner also punched the
clock as a writer on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour.
With All In The Family, Reiner received fame and recognition
in the form of Emmy Awards in 1974 and 1978 for Best Supporting
Actor in a Comedy portraying Archie's Meathead son-in-law, Mike
Stivic.
After leaving All In the Family, Reiner turned more towards
directing and producing, creating such modern classics as This
Is Spinal Tap, Stand By Me, Misery, When
Harry Met Sally, A Few Good Men and The Princess
Bride. Reiner also takes the occasional part in front of
the camera in feature films including, The First Wives Club,
and Primary Colors. He also did a voice-over on an episode
of Frasier. |
