Kristen Johnston began acting as a member of the Atlantic Theater Company. While there she appeared in such productions as "As You Like It," "Girl's Talk," "Stage Door," "Author's Voice," and "Portrait of a Woman." Her role in "The Lights" at earned her a Drama Desk award and got her the audition for 3rd Rock from the Sun.

Johnston won an Emmy for her portrayal of Sally Solomon, the alien lieutenant and security officer. Johnson has had numerous guest starring roles on television in such hit series as Chicago Hope and Sex in the City. She made her film debut in the short film The Debt. Other film roles include Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and Austin Powers: Goldmember.
