221 - Dolan Family
In November 2004, James Dolan was shot; he survived but lost his eyesight. James is, no longer able to manage the upkeep of their home. James was naturally handy, and he enjoyed fixing up the house. Now everyday tasks like getting something to eat or drink, or turning on lights for his children have become difficult, the crew steps in to make the house more livable for him.

222 - Vitale Family
John and Anne - Marie Vitale of St. James, New York were a young, happily married couple with three beautiful boys. Their family was growing quickly, so they decided to move out of their small, two - bedroom home and into Anne - Marie's parents' house while they began renovations on their home. Soon afterwards Anne - Marie was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukemia and died in August 2004. John, 32, decided to bring up their boys at his in - laws' house. John has never been able to finish the renovations. Daniel Rodriguez guest stars.

223 - Johnson Family
Kansas City firefighter Stephen Johnson is a man who is used to rescuing others and is a hero to many. In 2004, he was called to the scene of a house explosion in south Kansas City; Stephen risked his own life to save a paramedic, Mary Seymour, who had been shot. Mary nominated the Johnson family to Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Besides raising three kids of his own Stephen rescued two neighborhood kids, Brandon, 15, and Ryan, 13, from the foster care system after their adoptive mother passed away. Richardson and Trent Green guest star.

224 - Piestewa Family
When PFC Lori Piestewa was in Iraq, she told her roommate and best friend, PFC Jessica Lynch, that her dream was to return to her home in Tuba City, Arizona and build her parents a house. In March 2003, Lori became the first American woman killed in the war. Lori died while trying to save the lives of her friends, as she navigated her Humvee through gunfire and debris when it was hit by a grenade. Last Memorial Day she was remembered with rose petals in a ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, and she was honored on September 21, 2004 at the opening ceremony of the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, DC. Jessica Lynch guest stars.
