Episode 4Episode 5Episode 6

Well, it all comes to an end this week. Let’s talk first about the final episode – lots to talk about so yet another LONG blog entry. On the last official day we were in the house we went to the beach (FINALLY!). We got to spend much of the day there, snorkeling, playing football and cutting up. It was interesting watching people on the beach staring at us with all the cameras around – it was our first taste of “celebrity”, it was a really odd feeling, and really it hasn’t been like that since, except maybe at the premier party for the show.

The “prom” was cool overall but kind of strange since we’re all adults. I had the feeling that I’ve been there done that but it was fun. First, it was interesting to see people in the house asking each other to go to the prom… There was a strange pressure to get a “date”. Kat agreed to go with Jason and I, I had fun asking her because really I was kind of making fun of the whole situation we were placed in. Robbie kept saying he wanted to ask Cheryl all day – he was kind of nervous about it because he thought she might say no. The morning of the day of prom, all the guys went together to fit our tuxedos. It was about 120 degrees in the little shop where we went to get the tuxedos, apparently their A/C was broken. It is uncomfortable enough trying on a tuxedo WITH air conditioning. There are some photos of us in our tuxes in the shop and you can see the sweat… Also, Mike’s tuxedo was like 5 sizes too large – the effect was that he looked like a little kid in his dad’s tux! We all had a good laugh about that except Mike, he was kind of pissed because they didn’t have a full replacement in his size, and that meant a lot of safety pins... :-)

So we went to the prom, and we all had a great time! But by like 10:30pm it was all over, time to go back to the house, and we were all disappointed about that – it was fun but it was still like an old person’s prom if you ask me. Also, Steve’s arrival was just plain strange. I wondered back when he left why his last words to us all were “I’ll see all of you later”, because I was pretty sure I’d never see him again. I guess he knew something we didn’t at the time. I’m just glad we could all get over that to still have fun. Funniest uncomfortable moment of the episode – Rob saying “I almost kicked your @#$”…

Last but not least, let me give you a rundown on everyone and what has happened since the reunion – it’s been a long time since we taped the show. The main group that finished the show together still talks regularly via email and phone, and we also hang out from time to time – for example, I had Mike, Heather, Sean and Justin over a couple of weeks ago to watch the show on Wednesday.

Kat is still living in Hollywood continuing her career as a voiceover artist. She will appear in the upcoming movie Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, starring Ben Stiller. She is currently single.

Mike and Heather are a serious couple now known by the group as “Mike and Heather”. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are married someday soon.

Matt and Yvette did not work out after all. Yvette went home to her boyfriend and worked things out with him, and Matt seemed to benefit from his experience in Hawaii emotionally in dealing with his wife’s tragic death.

Not long after we all came home, Matt got together with a very nice girl, they are in a serious committed relationship now.

Justin and DeAnna remain friends, we’ve all hung out together several times. The interesting turn of events is that DeAnna is now in a serious relationship with Robbie. Rob and DeAnna are kindred spirits and they are really in love. As a matter of fact, they are on a cruise together with DeAnna’s parents as I write this. Rob is still working as an artist in Dallas.

Cheryl went back home to Austin, and we all miss her. She has a serious boyfriend there and is busy with her work as a flight attendant.

Sean and Kirstin are still together, serious and as far as I know, still going to get married someday. Sean is doing well as always, and Kirstin continues her successful career in real estate.

Jason and I remain friends to this day. We are both busy but we text each other sometimes during the day or send email to one another. Something else you don’t know about our experience in Hawaii is that Jason had the show fly out his family to Hawaii and introduced me to his wife and kids. Not only that but he also sat down with me, his wife and two boys and explained to his boys what he’d done in school and that he regretted his behavior, then he apologized to me in front of his family. He really went over and above to do that, and I was blown away by that.

Lana never did marry the man she said she was engaged to while in Hawaii. I don’t have much more information than that since I haven’t kept in touch with her. I don’t know what’s become of Steve, but I think he still lives somewhere in California.

Thanks for reading the blog, this is my last entry for the show. It’s been fun interacting with you guys on the message boards and writing these each week. If you’re interested and like my writing, look me up on myspace where I’ll keep you guys up to date on any future projects I will be working on. I’ve had so much fun here I’ll definitely be online doing something you guys will want to see soon. Bye for now!
