![]() StudioEIS Bob Newhart, Bewitched, Elvis Presley, Andy Griffith Renowned for its ability to bring history to life, Brooklyn-based StudioEIS has collectively produced more than 1,000 projects – contemporary and historical figures, sculptural portraits, anthropological works and period recreations – all commissioned for some of the most prestigious corporations, institutions and museums across the U.S. and around the world. Under the direction of founders Elliot and Ivan Schwartz, both artists and brothers, the Studio (pronounced ‘ice’) has grown exponentially into a respected team of sculptors, designers, mold makers, painters, costumers, carpenters and production crew dedicated to producing the most innovative and imaginative projects. StudioEIS is based in a 15,000-square foot studio right next to the Brooklyn Bridge. ![]() Gerald Sawyer Gerald Sawyer was commissioned to design the Fonzie statue. He's a Wisconsin artist who has been involved in bronze sculpture for 40 years. He has designed, sculpted and installed several pieces in the Milwaukee area, including “Rendezvous” for the Milwaukee County Zoo and numerous sculptures of Frederick Miller for Miller Brewing Company. Other notable projects include the life-size bronze Native-Americans in downtown Fort Atkinson on the Main Street Bridge and “Fireflies,” life-size bronzes of three local children releasing fireflies from a fishbowl. He has also created significant commissioned work for private collectors. ![]() Gwendolyn Gillen Wisconsin artist Gwendolyn Gillen was chosen from among 21 potential sculptors to capture that triumphant, now infamous moment of Mary Tyler Moore tossing her tam toward the Minneapolis skyline. Gillen’s past works include the Wisconsin Veterans of the Korean War Memorial, a bronze bust commissioned by celebrated actor Anthony Hopkins, a clay portrait of Lawrence Olivier as King Lear and a bronze likeness of Mikhail Baryshnikov as he appeared as Jason in "Medea." work ranges in size from small figures and portrait busts to life-sized and larger-than life figures. ![]() Robert Dugrenler and Lawrence J Nolan, Jr. Ralph Kramden TV Land commissioned Vermont sculptor Robert DuGrenier to design and produce the first TV Land Landmark Statue, a 6-foot, 6-inch bronze portrayal of Jackie Gleason as Ralph Kramden of The Honeymooners. DuGrenier employed Lawrence J. Nolan, Jr. to carve the 32-inch clay Marquette from which an enlargement was made to cast the bronze. Together, they collaborated on all aspects of design and production. Robert has created and produced many custom sculptural awards for MTV Networks since 1984, including the MTV Movie Awards and the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. His sculptural work can be seen on his website and at Shakespeare’s Fulcrum Gallery NYC. Specializing in figurative sculpture and bas-relief, Nowlan attended Millersville University of Pennsylvania, where he first fell in love with the art of bronze sculpting. He then attended the New York Academy of Art, Graduate School of Figurative Art. Nowlan has completed a legion of sculptures including numerous commissions for corporations and individuals.
